Big Wheels join March for Meals

Some Meals on Wheels recipients got a surprise on Wednesday, March 24 when local celebrities and government officials came to their doors. They joined the March for Meals by delivering Meals on Wheels for Home Health United along with our regular volunteers.

The "Big Wheels" included: UW Women's Basketball Coach Lisa Stone; Monona Mayor Robb Kahl; Madison Police Chief Noble Wray; Rob Starbuck of WISC TV; Mitch Henck of WIBA; Joy Cardin and Jim Packard of Wisconsin Public Radio; Jennifer Alexander, president of the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce; Peter Munoz, Executive Director of Centro Hispano; Alan Schumacher, City of Madison Streets Superintendent and Capt. Carl Gloede, Madison Police Department.

"We are so thankful to these community leaders for helping to draw attention and spread the word about Home Health United - Meals on Wheels," said Rick Bourne, HHU President and CEO after personally greeting many of the volunteers. "We also appreciate them giving their time to serve our recipients."
