LaValle man wins golf ball drop

Ball drop winner Stan Gorius

Pam Godfrey of Home Health United presents the $1,000 Golf Ball Drop Raffle prize to Stan Gorius

Stan Gorius, of LaValle, was the winner of $1,000 in the Home Health United Golf Ball Drop Raffle held Tuesday at Trapper's Turn Golf Club. Numbered golf balls were dropped from a helicopter piloted by Eric Peterson of Fly High Helicopter Tours on to a target on the driving range. The ball that matched Gorius' ticket went in the cup first.

WKOW TV broadcast the event live on their evening newscast with Sports Director Jake Zimmerman delivering the winning ball to Bob Lindmeier, WKOW meteorologist.

It was all part of the annual Home Health United Golf Tournament underwritten by the Home Health United – Visiting Nurse Service Foundation and supporting the HHU – Hospice and Meals on Wheels programs.

When told he had won, Gorius announced he would donate $200 of the prize back to the Foundation.
