Ways to Give
Gifts Take Many Forms
Every donor has their own desires when it comes to supporting non-profit organizations. At Home Health United, we have several programs donors can utilize in making their gifts, including Guardian Angels, Memorials and Tributes, Special Events, Planned Giving, and purchasing an item off a Wish List. Guardian Angels Gifts
Patients and loved ones can honor their caregivers through a Guardian Angel donation to the fund of their choice, ensuring the same quality of care is available to other patients who may not be able to afford it.
Guardian Angel caregivers are awarded an angel pin and certificate to recognize the outstanding care they provided you. View some past Guardian Angels here.
Whether it is in memorial of a loved one’s passing or in honor of a milestone like a birthday or anniversary, tribute gifts are a wonderful way to remember someone. If you are a patient, family member, friend or caregiver of someone touched by one of our many services, we would be honored to carry on your legacy through the work of the Home Health United – Visiting Nurse Service Foundation.
Looking to have some fun while benefiting a great cause? Our special events may be for you. The HHU-VNS Foundation hosts the Spirit of Life – Supporting the Hospice Journey event benefiting the St. Clare Hospice House Resident Fund, and Sweet Revolutions, a celebration of our Meals On Wheels program.
Designating the HHU-VNS Foundation as a beneficiary in your will or trust is a great way to fulfill your charitable wishes even after you’re gone. Of all the gifts you could offer our organization, one of the most meaningful and one of the easiest to make is a bequest. A bequest is simply a gift you pass to a person or entity through your will. Charitable bequests are unique in that they enjoy deductions from federal and most state inheritance taxes. Your financial planner can provide you with assistance. Leveraging this benefit may result in a larger estate passing to your heirs, such as friends and family.
If you do decide to make a charitable bequest to our organization, you will need to choose the type of bequest that best suits your particular needs and wishes.
Specific bequest: While this may take the form of an exact dollar amount, it could be a specific asset from your estate such as stocks, bonds, life insurance or real estate.
Percentage bequest: A bequest may be expressed as a percentage of your estate. Expressed in this way, your wishes are guaranteed regardless of whether your estate grows larger or smaller over time.
Contingent bequest: Certain criteria must be met before a contingent bequest is satisfied. For example, you might designate that we receive all or some of your estate only in the event you outlive your primary beneficiaries. This language protects your estate from litigation or from distribution to unintended parties.
Restricted bequest: You may wish to restrict your bequest for a specific purpose or HHU program.
Please consult your financial advisor for more information on planned giving. If you have left Home Health United in your estate plans, please notify our Development Office at 608-276-7590.
Each department has a list of items they are in need of. If you’d like to make a donation to directly purchase one of these items, please view the lists of needed items here.
