Spirit of Life
The Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells once again hosted Home Health United’s annual Spirit of Life gala. Over 300 guests came out to enjoy an evening of food and fun, raising over $50,000 for the St. Clare Hospice House Resident Fund.
What is the St. Clare Hospice House Resident Fund?
Often referred to as “the best-kept health care secret of the community”, the St. Clare Hospice House operated by Home Health United sits tucked away behind St. Clare Meadows in Baraboo. Staffed around the clock, the House has four private rooms for patients receiving hospice services and who are unable to remain at home.
Medicare and most private insurances covers expenses associated with hospice services, but room and board fees at the Hospice House are generally not covered by insurance. Patients and families are responsible for those costs, which can exceed $200 per day. Home Health United has established a fund which provides assistance for those individuals who may not be able to afford these fees, which is why the annual “Spirit of life – Supporting the Hospice Journey” fundraiser is so important.
